Fort Arachnida

I am tough. I am strong.
Yes, I am tough I am strong,
with my entwined bastion of solitude.
Pentagon, octagon,

its shape may sway in the wind,
but once you get in, there is no escaping.
With the skills of a craftsman,
I weaved my home -

an ethereal chateau
sheltered from the elements.
A ray of light reveals
its beauty, shrouded

not by the reclusive location.
Quiver Quiver
Who is there?
Oh, my guests are here.

Afterthoughts...

This is a poem in which the speaker is a spider. I got the idea for these in a discussion about whether it is appropriate to say a spider web is a work of a craftsman. The rationale behind the doubt is that a web is like knit work, whereas when people say craftsman, they tend to mean something like carpenters or construction workers. Well, if you are a spider, I think the answer is clear.
